The managent today held a press-conference at the home arena, the Kingdome. GM Andreas Larsson was asked about his opinion about the upcoming battle with Mallrats. "It will be though series. It will proberly go to 7 games and if we have the same team-work now as in the reguar season we'll win. That's our key; teamwork, were everyone work for eachother, and now as ever, no one is worth more than any other Monarch player, evan if we have certain players that are important players" said Larsson. Well, Monarchs will have to start the playoffs without defender Todd Gill and Left winger Mikko Makkela. Makkela that made an nasty attck on Gill during a practice and injuried Gill, are unoffcially suspended on uncertain time by GM Larsson. "Makkela have appologized to Gill, and they are once again team-mates, but it's right that Makkela is suspended (officially Injuried) and me and Coach Nilsson will decided when Makkela can be a potential playoff player. Monarchs have 2 players away, and this proberly means that Peter Taglianetti start the first game, if not Headcoach Nilsson chose Craig Wolanin insted. "It's not decided yet, both have been promesing on the last practices" said Nilsson. We could note that Wolanin hasn't played any games in the Monarch jersey yet. Another intresting question is if Mike Vernon will lead the team the way he did in the regular season were he was without doubt the best goaltender in the league. We asked Gm Larsson and he said: "I'm sure that Vernon continues in the same style if he plays. Trefilov is getting better and better so you never know what coach Nilsson do". Vernon himself commeneted "As Mr.Larsson said, if I play I do it good, but Trefilov is a great keeper to" Who will be the important players in this Hockey-Machine. Yes, there are some evan if Larsson keeps talking about that everyone is wort the same. IMPORTANT MONARCH PLAYERS: Peter Forsberg, Alexander Daigle and Ulf Dahlen will be important in the offense, but also 3rd center Bradley, Andreychuck, Titov, Khristich, 4th and 5th ceneters Poulin and Millen will be important. Don't forget old Mats Naslund that will get very powerful when the playoff starts. To this could we add Makkela, Carnback, Hull, Leach. MacInnis, Ellett, and Sweeney will be the most important defenders, and Jeff Buchanan (the team rookie leader) and Sean Hill are very useful. Taglinetti and Wolanin fights to be 7th defender and don't forget injuried Todd Gill, a greta hockey player that are back soon. Vernon is a key to victory, and I assume that Larsson and Nilsson chose to play him, but Trefilov is also a terrific keeper. As we see we almost named every player on the pro team, and that is Mnarchs strenght: They are so equal every were, if they get 1 or 2 or 3 injuried on big names, it doesn't hurt that much. All, in all we could say that Forsberg, Daigle, Dahlen, MacInnis and Vernon are the most important players, but also Poulin are importnat with his defensive abilities. The Herald are lookin forward towards the first game and we think that Monarchs will win 4-2 in the series, and then march towards the Cyber Cup, with Peter Forsberg as Playoff MVP.
