SASKATOON {CP}- Keith Carney..a man who scored only one goal all season long scored the overtime game winner last night to keep the Huskies alive another day in their series against the Blizzard. In the 17th minute of the first overtime Keith Carney got his first shift of the overtime in an effort to rest the tired Huskie troops. Keith was told to "keep the puck out of our net" by Huskies captain Paul Coffey...but Keith decided to do one better. He joked in the intermission to get some ice-time so he could scored but even he said, "I didn't even think I'd get any ice-time...forget scoring." While on the ice against the Blizzards top line he intercepted a pass from Alexi Zhitnik intended for a breaking Pat Lafontaine and upon recieving the puck skated in for a breakaway. Alexi had other ideas and hauled down Keith but Carney had the prescence of mind to shove the puck at the net and beat a confused Curtis Joseph between the legs. Curtis argued adimantly that he had control of the puck but after the play went under review the series was sent back to Moscow...for Game 6. GM Shaun Driver said, "We'll I know we are in tough but if we can win Game 6 then I think we can take Game 7 at home..but the Moscow crowd is really tough...and so is the team on the ice..we can only take it one goal at a time and hopefully it will all work out."
