He couldn't hide a tear when he announced that he had to trade Pavel Bure. Here are his comments: " Last year, we had the joy to welcome two russian superstars in Newfoundland in Pavel Bure and Alexander Mogilny. They terrorised the league's tenders with Sundin at center for a couple months last season. But, after the fast elimination in the series, the management felt that some changes where needed to better the team. A first step was taken in this order of idea last week when the Corinthians obtained the services of defencemen Sylvain Cote from the Lunatics. Today, after a couple days of negociations, I finally reached an agreement with the Voodoo. The deal send Pavel Bure, Nelson Emerson, Dave Lowry, Alexander Karpovtsev and Danton Cole to the Voodoo. Arriving in Kingston are RW Brett Hull, center Keith Primeau, LW Patrick Poulin, dmen Jirky Lumme and young prospect Valeri Bure, Pavel's brother. I really feel those changes where needed because last season, Fiset was really alone. Now this season, with Cote, Lumme, Numminen and Stevens in front of him, his job will be a lot easyer. I'm very confident Jeff Friesen will be able to fill Bure's shoes. Last season, as a rookie, he compiled 64 pts playing on the second line. Brett Hull will a less pressure playing on the second line with Primeau and I'm pretty confident he'll have a good season. Bure will have the chance to develop his skills with the farm team. Thanks guys, that will be all." After the end f the press conference, a rumour was heard that Brett Hull would already be engaged in trade talks.
