Subject: Voodoo get flipped in Rapids

-Vancouver- The Vancouver Voodoo lost their second in a row as the
Whitehorse Rapids, narrowly defeated the Voodoo last night.  Again for the
second night in a row, Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, and Paul Coffey were non
factors in the game.  "It's very disappointing, these are the games we
have to win.  I don't get it, we've beat the best teams in other divisions
but we're below five hundred against teams in our division," said Linden.
The loss puts the Voodoo only 2 points ahead of the Fury and 3 back of the
Dominators, one of the hottest teams in the league going 8-1-1 in their
last ten.  What is wrong with the Voodoo right now, "Well the guys have to
start firing on all cylinders, we have to get it going out there.  Take
more shots, and I mean quality shots.  We can't rely on the Craigwells and
Odgers' to take us to the promised land.  Not say those guys don't have to
play their roles, and chip in a couple of goals now and then but the
Bure's and Linden's have to start scoring again," remarked a frustrated
Darren Kinnaird.  The Voodoo's next game is against the Calgary Clowns,
and then they cross town to take on the Huskies.  "Tha games in Caulgary
wil be big fur us.  It cood be a tooning poin fur us," remarked Esa
Tikannen.  Coach Darren Kinnaird has said he may step down soon, as coach
to focus on the GM side of things and look at letting assistant Tom Renney
take over the controls.  Renney will be running the bench for the two
games in Calgary as Kinnaird will be travelling to Chicoutimi for Board of
Governors meetings over the weekend.  - Jim Taylor, Sports Only, B.C.'s
