Along with Sylvain Lefebvre and veteran defenceman Kevin Lowe, Saku has been dealt to the Corinthians, for right winger Alex Mogilny and defenceman Teppo Numminen. Mr. Howe said that moving Koivu has been an option the Mustangs have been looking at for a while, but were unable to find a good match for the young centre. "Even now, I'm not sure this is the right move. Last time I dealt a young centre to Mr. Hebert he began to light up the league. Sundin played for the Mustangs and could hardly get scoring points, after moving to Newfoundland (Now Kingston), he began playing great! So I am sure Saku will flourish alongside Mats. But I needed to get a strong right winger, and in Alexandre I think we've improved our team for the present." When asked why he traded a good rookie player Mr. Howe stated that; "We have a few good rookies this season! Look at Elomo, great hands, and what a mean streak in him! Then there is Redden, played very well on defence, considering our teams dismal effort this season! Berkvist, playing well above our expectations. Brad Berry, recently brought up from the farm, and playing great! So we lose one great rookie, and get a great veteran."
