                  MONARCHS WIN AGAIN AND FORSBERG IMPRESS

(MINNEAPOLIS-MIN) Last seasons President's Trophy winners, the Minneapolis
Monarchs, have opened the season with 2 wins and 1 loss. Last night the
Monarchs defeated the the Huskies away in close game. The Monarchs won 4-2,
and the swede Patrick Carnback was the hero when he decided the game with 8
minutes left.

Rookie Andrew Brunette made a good game and scored twice. Brunette have got
a great start of his rookie season. He has made 5 points on 3 games and are
among the top 15 in the league. "Andrew have started well, and I hope he can
continue" said GM Latsson.

But its Peter Forsberg that have started best of all Monarchs. 7 points on 3
games for the swedish star is what we call a flying start. Headcoach Kent
'the Magic Man' Nilsson have lined up a complete swedish 1st line were Peter
Forsberg are the center between wingers Uffe Dahlen and Patrick Carnback.
Carnback that is a suprise so far in the starting line up. Many people
thought he would spend his time in the farm team, but instead he take a
place on the 1st line. "Many people were suprised that Carnback played
togheter with Forsberg, ut he fits into the line good and talk the same
language" said GM Larsson and continued "but we might see what Brunette can
do togeher with forsberg in the next games, or maybe try last years sucess
line with Daigle and Forsberg together".

"We have a very deep team this year as well and that's what we will win on"
said team captian Al MacInnis.

Andrei Trefilov have started the first three games, while last years best
goalie in WHL accoriding to save percentage Mike Vernon have been benched.
Trefilov have been good in all three games, but GM Larsson announced todat
that Vernon will start in the next game.
