DOMINATORS LOSE, WIN

DES MOINES (AP)~~ The Des Moines Dominators lost only their second game to
division rivals the Huskies by a score of 3-2. Rookie sensation Stephane
Morin had an assist on each goal that the Dominators scored. Morin is just
two points out of the overall scoring race after being chosen in the third
round, the Dominators fourth pick, in the entry draft. "I never thought the
Stephane would turn out to be such a star so early. I wasn't really looking
for centers in the draft but he was still there so I just picked him and
didn't really have an idea for where I was going to play him." said a happy
GM Jason Kolsrud. The Dominators moved on to there next game with the first
change of the year. Guy Hebert got the start in net against the Hitmen. The
Dominators pulled of the victory by winning by 5-4. Stephane Morin added
another assist to his total as rookie rearguard Bryan McCabe had two
assists. Mikael Renberg got into the scoring with a goal and an assist. An
even bigger surprise for the Dominators, besides Morin, is the play of Jari
Kurri. He added a goal and an assist to put him amung the tops in the
overall scoring race. With the win the Dominators are now in first place in
the Smythe Division.

DOMINATORS NEWS:

GM Kolsrud is very pleased with the performance of his team and is very
hopeful that they can keep the play up all year long. Kolsrud added that
right now he is not looking at making any deals.
