Big names like team captain Pat Lafontaine, Oleg Tverdovsky, Claude Lemieux and Tomas Sandstrom, to name a few, have all been traded. New to the team are Mark Recchi, Gary Galley, Scott Neidermayer, and Paul Ranheim (among others). This marks only the beginning says General Manager Lori Steward. She recently aquired the team from David Shrewsbury and is completely restructuring the club. Be prepared to see alot of new faces in the upcoming season. Since the team captain Pat Lafontaine has been traded, there was some concern for the team's morale. What the team needed was strong leadership. In an unprecedented move, the players and coach unanimously voted newcomer Mark Recchi as team captain. Mark Recchi, in an emotional statement to the press, admitted that he never expected a welcome like that! He was sorry to leave the Lunatics, but is already feeling completely at home in Denmark.
